About
Black Forest Fire/Rescue provides both fire and emergency medical services to approximately 10,000 people in over 48 square miles of unincorporated El Paso County (just northeast of Colorado Springs, Colorado). The Black Forest community, and Black Forest Fire/Rescue, have always appreciated the support of our citizens and neighboring fire departments. But your support was vital during the hard fight of the Black Forest Fire. It will be essential in the long recovery that is to come.

The June 2013 Black Forest fire was the most destructive in Colorado’s history. The fire charred more than 14,000 acres, killed two people, destroyed 509 homes, and devastated a wooded suburb of Colorado Springs. Our immediate goal is to assist our community rebuild, replace equipment that was lost in the fire and forest mitigation that would help contain future wildfires.
